For over 50 years, D&AD has been a leading force in recognizing and supporting the creative community. We work with creative professionals, companies, and brands to shape the future of creativity through education, awards, and community.
Role Overview: D&AD is seeking a results-driven and strategic Senior Performance Marketing Manager to lead and optimise our digital marketing efforts across paid channels. This pivotal role will focus on developing, executing, and optimising data-driven performance marketing campaigns to drive sales, revenue, increase brand awareness, and contribute to the growth of D&AD’s key initiatives, including awards, membership, and events.
As the Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you will work closely with the broader marketing team in brand comms and content and external digital agencies to develop and execute paid media strategies that align with D&AD’s objectives and targets for our product suite. You will manage the end-to-end performance marketing campaigns and be responsible for delivering measurable results; reporting on results and making proposals on any adjustments necessary to hit targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Paid Media Optimisation: Continuously monitor and optimise performance marketing campaigns to maximize ROI. Use A/B testing, audience segmentation, and creative iteration to drive performance improvements across all paid channels. Share results and recommendations regularly.
Performance KPIs & Growth: Manage and track the key metrics for performance marketing, including cost per acquisition (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS), conversion rate, and lifetime value (LTV), ensuring that D&AD’s digital initiatives consistently deliver positive results.
Budget Management & Reporting: Manage and allocate performance marketing budgets effectively, ensuring campaigns stay within budget while delivering on key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide regular performance reporting and insights to stakeholders, including senior management.
Data-Driven Insights & Analytics: Leverage data analytics and tools to track campaign performance, analyse results, and generate actionable insights. Translate complex data into clear, understandable reports that interpret KPIs and guide marketing efforts, and maximise ROI. Use data to make informed decisions and continuously improve campaign effectiveness. Expert in tools such as Google Analytics and other analytics platforms.
Marketing Automation: Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot) to streamline campaigns and customer journeys. Knowledge of CRM systems and how to leverage customer data to improve campaign targeting and engagement.
Audience Segmentation & Targeting: Define, test, and refine audience segments to ensure the right messaging reaches the right people across the right channels, driving engagement and conversion.
Campaign Strategy & Execution: Lead the development and execution of performance marketing campaigns across paid social, display, search, programmatic, and other digital channels where relevant - in particular (Google Ads, Facebook/Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Programmatic, etc.). Ensure campaigns are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable results. Work closely and collaboratively with the brand and comms team to ensure the right creative, content and messaging is used on paid marketing campaigns.
Lead Generation: Develop and execute strategies to attract, engage, and convert potential customers into qualified leads. Identify target audiences for different products and initiatives for D&AD, creating compelling offers, and utilising a range of tactics, such as content marketing, paid advertising, email campaigns, and social media, to drive interest and capture contact information. Nurture leads through the sales funnel, optimising conversion rates, and ensuring high-quality leads are passed to sales teams.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Strong understanding of landing page optimisation, user experience (UX), and conversion rate optimisation techniques. Ability to apply insights from A/B testing and user behavior data to improve conversion rates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including brand and comms, Foundations, Partnerships and Awards & Festival teams to ensure integrated marketing strategies to support organisational goals.
Innovation & Best Practices: Stay on top of digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices to ensure D&AD remains at the forefront of performance marketing. Identify new opportunities to expand paid media efforts and drive growth.
Key Skills and Experience:
