Job Title: Foundation Assistant (Temporary Contract)
Reports to: Senior Foundation manager
Role: Full time, Fixed-term contract: 13 March – 01 August 2023.
Deadline: 24 February (Candidates are advised to submit their applications early)
Interviews: Throughout February and March
Location: Hybrid - Home & London E1 Office working
Salary: £23,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday (9:30am-5:30pm). Flexible hours considered.
Flexibility will be required when working to deadlines.

Purpose of the Job
Every year D&AD’s New Blood Awards receive thousands of entries from students and emerging creatives from all over the world. This role is to assist in all aspects of the awards; from helping entrants submit their work through, to assisting with judging, to working with the Foundation Team to produce and deliver the New Blood Awards Ceremony.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer
Deal confidently and efficiently with incoming and outgoing entry queries.
Provide a high level of customer service to entrants and tutors.
Use the D&AD query database to log and resolve all queries.
New Blood Awards Pencils
Managing Pencil orders including running reports, proofreading printing requests, packaging and distributing.
Research
Complete research tasks on competitors and university courses.
Complete any other research tasks required for the Foundation & Masterclass team.
Cataloguing
Use the D&AD cataloguing system to record and check entry data.
Quality check moving image, stills and web based entries.
Identify and resolve problems with entries, contacting the entrant where necessary.
Complete the detailed cataloguing process to prepare the work in time for judging.
Ensure the immaculate presentation and condition of work at all times.
Liaise with management to resolve complex problems.
Contact Tutors and entrants with unpaid or incomplete entries.
New Blood Awards Judging
Support with judge communications.
Support Jury Managers with general judges queries and as a general co-host for any jury should a Jury Manager face connection or other issues.
Proofread all winning entries, including updating entrant details where required.
New Blood Ceremony & Pencils Support
Proofing and updating winning New Blood Awards Entries
Managing Pencil orders (including for the New Blood Awards Ceremony) including running reports, proofreading printing requests, packaging and distributing.
Proofread the New Blood Awards Ceremony script and slides, and ensure presenters have access to pronunciation guides for entries and entrant names.
New Blood Festival & Academy
Support coordinating judges for the Editor X & New Blood Awards Portfolio Competition.
Check through all entries submitted into the Portfolio Competition.
Support university and entrant communications.
Contact and secure New Blood Festival and Academy Speakers, including phoning speakers where necessary.
Support the coordination of portfolio reviews and any in-person events.
General
Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Foundation Executive or Senior Manager.
Skills required for the job
Computer literate.
Good organisational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Rigorous attention to detail.
A second language (desirable but not essential).
Working knowledge of Adobe Production Suite (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of the design and advertising industry (desirable but not essential)
