Purpose of the job  

To manage key accounts and actively generate new business opportunities for D&AD: with brands, advertising agencies and design studios. Particular focus will be placed on  D&AD’s Awards. To achieve this you will be expected to take a consultative and thoughtful approach to build relationships with clients.    

Duties and key responsibilities

  • Manage key accounts. Develop and/or grow existing account relationships
  • Maintain and build fruitful business relations built on trust and an understanding of customer needs
  • Provide a holistic account management experience for D&AD key accounts, ensuring companies understand all D&AD activities across departments.
  • With regards awards entry, ensure the entrant is communicated year-round throughout the journey from entry, to credits collection and rankings data if winning, ceremony and then annual.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline according to targets and provide clear and accurate reporting of sales outcomes and activities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of in market activity i.e. potential competitors, trends, best market practice, and potential collaborators.
  • Maintain an expert working knowledge of D&AD’s product and service offering, namely D&AD Awards categories and pricing structure
  • Work with the Awards, Marketing teams to ensure the products are communicated effectively to generate incoming enquiries
  • Conduct research to identify award-winning talent and exceptional work from the design, advertising, tech and film industries and convert into new business leads
  • Help to generate interest and engagement in awards events in your region where applicable
  • Engage new business leads to increase participation in D&AD Awards. Co-ordinate new business pipeline to ensure targets are met and participation and awareness has increased
  • Provide regular pipeline reports to management
  • Ensure all relevant client activity, communications and contact information is up to date and accurate in the D&AD CRM

Experience and skills required

  • One of more of the following languages are beneficial for this role: Spanish, French, Russian
  • Experience in a sales role
  • Ability to identify client challenges and develop creative solutions in close collaboration with the Awards team
  • Account management experience
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and oral
  • Be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • People skills with the ability to establish and develop key business relationships in a variety of situations

  • Committed and motivated to succeed and meet objectives, both personal and business related
